Wahied on Zain Bhikha's album
In June 2005, Wahied was privileged to be invited by Zain Bhikha Studios to perform as a backing vocalist on Zain Bhikh's new album Mountains of Makkah. Wahied was joined by fellow member of Īmān, Nizaam Moses. Wahied and Nizaam, performing in unison, can be heard on the Sabr and Shukr track.
Wahied's two-day stay in Johannesburg, for the recording of the backing vocals, also afforded him the opportunity to meet the tenor and base singers, Linda, Bongani and Nhlanhla (who also feature as backing vocalists on the new album).
A clearly excited Wahied found the experience educational, "Meeting Brother Zain for the first time was a warm experience, recording in a professional studio and working with other musicians has given me new ideas about nasheed."
Mountains of Makkah is scheduled for release in September 2005 by Jamal Records.
